Yeast Infection and Sex

Sex with a Yeast Infection is a Give and Take... Over and Over Again

Is sex okay with a yeast infection? Definitely not. The problem of having sex with a partner who has a yeast infection is that the candida yeast is just passed back and forth. It’s really mpossible to gain cures for either partner as long as they are having sex.

It need not be the act of sex that is the underlying cause of the infection. It may be penile or vaginal infections. Yeast imbalances are communicable. Once partners start infecting each other, they must stop having unprotected sex and proceed with treatment. If they are not willing to do this, then they can pass the infection back and forth for years to come.

Using condoms can prevent yeast infection being transmitted to both the penis and vagina, but only if they are used every time in the proper method. Actually the penis and vagina are not alone, the mouth and rectum are also prone to infection if they are penetrated. Whatever kind of sex you and your partner are having protect yourselves. At times and oral yeast infection known as thrush can be passed on with oral sex. A condom for the man or a dental dam for the woman is highly recommended to avoid passing on the yeast infection.

Of course there is no substitute for abstinence. With no sexual contact there is no possibility of passing it on. While there is no sex, see a doctor to relieve the yeast infection so you can resume sexual activity.
